Sending money overseas can feel stressful — especially when you’re not sure what’s happening after you hit send. OrbitRemit shows you the status of your transfer in real time, but the labels aren’t always self-explanatory.
This guide explains exactly what each OrbitRemit transfer status means, what you need to do (if anything), and what to expect next — so you always know where your money is.
How to Check Your OrbitRemit Transfer Status
You can check the progress of your transfer at any time by logging into your OrbitRemit account and selecting Transfers from the menu.
In the Transfers section you’ll see:
- The current status of your transfer
- Updates as your payment is being processed
- Confirmation once the money has been successfully delivered to your recipient
This works on both the OrbitRemit website and the OrbitRemit mobile app (iOS and Android).
OrbitRemit Transfer Statuses — Explained
There are 7 transfer statuses you may see in your OrbitRemit account. Here’s what each one means.
1. Awaiting Payment
What it means: You have successfully created your transfer in your OrbitRemit account, but we have not yet received your payment.
What you need to do: Make your payment — either by bank transfer to OrbitRemit’s account, or by debit/credit card. Your transfer cannot be processed until payment is received.
Tip: For the fastest processing, make payment immediately after creating your transfer, and do so on a weekday before your local bank’s cut-off time. Payments made on weekends or after cut-off times will take longer to arrive.

2. Processing Funds
What it means: OrbitRemit has received your payment and your transfer is now being processed.
What you need to do: Nothing — sit tight. You have successfully funded your transfer and it is in the queue to be sent. OrbitRemit will update you shortly.

3. Awaiting Settlement
What it means: OrbitRemit has processed your transfer and it is in the final stages of being sent to your recipient’s account.
What you need to do: Nothing further is required at this point. Your transfer is nearly complete.

4. Awaiting Collection
What it means: OrbitRemit has received your payment and made the funds available for your recipient to collect. This status applies to cash pickup transfers only.
If you provided a valid mobile number for your recipient, they will receive an SMS with a reference number advising them that the cash is ready to collect at their nominated pickup location.
What you need to do: Let your recipient know to collect their cash. OrbitRemit currently supports cash pickup transfers to:
- Philippines — 5,000+ pickup locations
- Nepal — NIC Asia Bank branches
- Vietnam —Any branch of DongA Bank in Vietnam.

5. Paid
What it means: This is the final status for your transfer. OrbitRemit has completed the transfer and the money has been sent to your recipient.
What you need to do: Nothing — your transfer is complete.
Important note: “Paid” means OrbitRemit has completed its part of the process. It does not always mean the funds are immediately visible in your recipient’s account — some banks take additional time to display cleared funds. If your transfer shows as Paid but your recipient hasn’t seen the funds yet, allow for standard bank processing times before contacting support. It’s always worth checking directly with your recipient first.

6. Awaiting Update
What it means: OrbitRemit has encountered a problem completing your transfer. This usually happens when the recipient account details you provided are invalid — for example, an incorrect account number, or an account name that doesn’t match the bank’s records.
What you need to do: OrbitRemit will contact you by email with the specific reason and your options. You can typically either:
- Provide updated or alternative recipient account details, or
- Request a refund
How to update recipient details:
- Go to the Recipients tab in your OrbitRemit account and delete the invalid recipient details
- Select + (app) or Add Recipient (website) to add the correct details
- Check the new details are accurate
- Reply to OrbitRemit’s email confirming the updated details have been added
Once completed, your Awaiting Update transfer will be voided and rebooked as a new transfer with the correct recipient details.

7. Void
What it means: Your transfer has been cancelled. In most cases, a transfer is voided because OrbitRemit did not receive payment.
What you need to do: Voided transfers cannot be reinstated. If you need to send money, you will need to create a new transfer.
If you have already paid but your transfer shows as Void: This is unusual — contact OrbitRemit by raising a support ticket so the team can investigate.

Why Is My Transfer Taking Longer Than Expected?
Most OrbitRemit transfers complete within the estimated timeframe, but occasionally delays occur. Here are the most common reasons:
Bank cut-off times: Banks in Australia and New Zealand have local cut-off times, after which payments take an extra business day to process. If you made a transfer after your bank’s cut-off time, or on a weekend or public holiday, allow extra time for the payment to reach OrbitRemit.
Your payment hasn’t arrived yet: Just because a payment has left your bank account doesn’t mean it has arrived in OrbitRemit’s account — particularly for bank transfers. Check that your transfer status has moved from Awaiting Payment to Processing Funds: to confirm your payment has been received.
Identity verification: If this is your first transfer, OrbitRemit may need to verify your identity before processing. If the information provided doesn’t meet verification requirements, your transfer may be held while additional information is requested. To check your verification status, visit the Verification menu in your OrbitRemit profile.
Recipient bank processing times: Each bank in each country processes incoming transfers differently. OrbitRemit provides estimated delivery times based on the best available guidelines, but individual banks may take additional time to credit funds to your recipient’s account.
Tip: If your transfer shows as Paid but your recipient hasn’t seen the funds, always check directly with your recipient before contacting support — the money may have arrived but not yet be displayed in their account.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I track my OrbitRemit transfer?
Log into your OrbitRemit account on the website or mobile app and select Transfers from the menu. You’ll see the current status of all your transfers and receive updates as your payment is processed.
What does “Paid” mean on OrbitRemit?
“Paid” is the final status and means OrbitRemit has completed the transfer. The money has been sent to your recipient. Note that some banks take additional time to display the funds in your recipient’s account — this is normal and is outside OrbitRemit’s control.
What should I do if my transfer is stuck on “Awaiting Payment”?
It means OrbitRemit has not yet received your payment. Check that you have made payment to OrbitRemit’s bank account or by card. If you’ve already paid, check your bank to confirm the payment was sent. If you paid on a weekend or after your bank’s cut-off time, allow extra time for it to arrive.
What should I do if my transfer shows “Awaiting Update”?
This means there is a problem with your recipient’s account details. OrbitRemit will email you with details. You can either provide updated recipient details or request a refund. Follow the steps in the Awaiting Update section above.
Can a voided transfer be reinstated?
No. Voided transfers cannot be reinstated. If you need to send money, create a new transfer. If your transfer shows as Void but you have already made payment, contact OrbitRemit via a support ticket.
How long does an OrbitRemit transfer take?
Transfer times vary by destination country and delivery method. Mobile wallet transfers (e.g. GCash) typically complete within minutes. Cash pickup transfers are typically available within 1–2 hours. Bank deposit transfers typically arrive same business day. For specific processing times by country, visit orbitremit.com/destinations.
What happens if I entered the wrong recipient details?
Your transfer will show as Awaiting Update. OrbitRemit will contact you by email. You can provide corrected recipient details or request a refund. See the Awaiting Update section above for step-by-step instructions.
